I was so inspired by the brilliant Amanda Gorman's poem... It was so on point and brought me to tears. It just shows you can be in awe and find resonant inspiration when you least expect it. A 22 year old girl with infinite possibility ahead of her despite adversity she faced in her youth with a speech impediment and being raised by a single mother. She is now the poster child of hope for the entire world. Bravo!
The emotion that her composure of words brings reminds you of the true power words carry especially when they are for good, to raise awareness. Her play on words were so clever and I hope these words continue to represent our country and nation.
I thought the light references were relevant to our brand mission and messaging of bringing light to yourself and your space. The far from polished mention represented the raw healing crystals we design with. Objects from nature are natural meaning they have inclusions, inconsistencies and character that define them... We all come together to become more beautiful through our differences... our crystal grids represent communities, overlapping circles of different origins, color and culture.
These were some of my favorite lines from her poem...
where can we find light in this never-ending shade?"
"And yes we are far from polished
far from pristine
but that doesn’t mean we are
striving to form a union that is perfect
We are striving to forge a union with purpose
To compose a country committed to all cultures, colors, characters and
conditions of man
And so we lift our gazes not to what stands between us
but what stands before us
We close the divide because we know, to put our future first,
we must first put our differences aside
We lay down our arms
so we can reach out our arms
to one another
We seek harm to none and harmony for all
Let the globe, if nothing else, say this is true:
That even as we grieved, we grew
That even as we hurt, we hoped
That even as we tired, we tried"
"The new dawn blooms as we free it
For there is always light,
if only we’re brave enough to see it
If only we’re brave enough to be it"
Supernatural's philosophy founded by Suzy Batiz is so aligned with ours.
Here is a snippet from their website... "We believe in taking every opportunity to elevate the experience of life—yes, even those glamorous moments spent on your hands and knees scrubbing the toilet seat. What if instead of a chore, cleaning was experienced as a cleansing ritual? A time to turn up the tunes, take off your clothes, breathe deeply and put love into your most sacred space. The aromatherapeutic benefits of supernatural’s oils activate the senses, uplifting and enlivening the spirit. A little something we like to call “extrasensory cleaning.” Because if we have to clean in this life, we may as well figure out how to enjoy it, to have fun with it and choose it."
